My career journey
Avid Traveler, Hospitality Professional, Photography Enthusiast
Working in Hospitality started as summer side gig. It became my career once I felt the genuine satisfaction of helping people while they enjoy their travels. I eventually went back to get my graduate degree in Hospitality and I never looked back to another profession.
My first role while traveling was on a Singapore based cruise-ship as a bartender. That one-year contract was the most formative of my youth years, as the exposure to working with colleagues from all around the world opened my mind and my heart. It also taught me discipline and opened my appetite for learning.
The following years I’ve been fortunate to work on the East Coast of the U.S. for high end private clubs, as I worked my way up to Food and Beverage middle management, while learning my leadership stripes. During those years I’ve worked with brilliant professionals and was blessed to find generous mentors along the way. I found my way back to the classroom, this time in the heart of Florida’s tourism Mecca, Orlando. The Hospitality Management graduate program at UCF gave me the confidence and knowledge needed to navigate my next career chapter, hotel management.
For the following 10 years I worked for Hyatt Hotels, with roles in F&B, Rooms and Guest Services. The culture focused on fostering care for colleagues and guests made me feel that I belong and encouraged me to be my genuine self. Hyatt was an unforgettable chapter, both professionally and personally, as allowed me to travel and work in 5 beautiful locations around the world.
The best role I’ve had with Hyatt was at the iconic Park Hyatt Sydney, Australia in Guest Services. After being lead by an unbelievable professional, mentor and friend and having been blessed with a brilliant team, I knew that I found my favorite career path.
It wasn’t until a few more years later, fast forward past the pandemic and post-pandemic years, that I was able to find THE job that I was looking for, the job that I was preparing for all my career. That lead me to Alyeska Resort in Girdwood, Alaska, and its newly launched Black Diamond Club. I am fortunate and proud to be a part of the Black Diamond team and excited for what the future has in store for us.
